Chandrakhani Pass Trek – A Mythical Trail through the Heart of Himachal

The Chandrakhani Pass Trek is a captivating journey through the scenic Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, blending breathtaking natural beauty with rich cultural heritage. Starting from the quaint village of Naggar, this moderately challenging trail leads to the high mountain pass at an elevation of approximately 3,660 meters. The route offers mesmerizing views of the Pir Panjal, Dhauladhar, and Parvati ranges, making it a favorite among trekkers seeking both serenity and adventure.

As you ascend, the trail winds through lush pine forests, vibrant alpine meadows, and remote Himachali villages like Rumsu and Malana. The spring and summer months are especially delightful, with blooming wildflowers and clear skies revealing the grandeur of the Himalayas. Although ideal for beginners, this trek offers enough elevation gain and terrain variety to keep it exciting for seasoned trekkers too.

What makes this trail even more fascinating is its connection to local mythology. According to legends, Jamlu Rishi, a revered sage from Malana, carried deities across the Chandrakhani Pass. When he reached the summit, strong winds scattered the idols across the nearby peaks. As a result, mountains like Deo Tibba, Indrasan, and others are now considered sacred.

Whether you’re drawn to it for the panoramic views, the spiritual significance, or the peaceful Himalayan surroundings, the Chandrakhani Pass Trek offers an unforgettable escape into nature.
