One of the most beautiful yet lesser-known trekking trails in Manali is the Mangankot hike. Located in the mountains of Old Manali at an altitude of 3,379 meters, it offers a serene escape into nature. To reach the trailhead, drive 4–5 kilometers (around 20 minutes) from Old Manali to Alyias Nallah near Manjhach Village.

The trail is perfect for beginners and seasoned trekkers alike. With a total distance of around 10–12 kilometers (round trip), it offers a moderate challenge with some rocky sections and gentle ascents. The path winds through pine forests, open ridgelines, and hidden clearings. Along the way, you’ll get sweeping views of the Kullu Valley and the majestic Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges.

Because it’s an offbeat route, the Mangankot trek avoids the crowds found on more popular trails around Manali. It’s an ideal half-day or full-day adventure if you want to connect with nature and enjoy solitude. Wildlife sightings are common, and the ever-changing mountain light makes it a dream for photography lovers.

Whether you’re planning a short nature escape or adding a scenic trail to your Manali itinerary, the Mangankot hike is worth every step.
