Patalsu Peak Day Hike – A Scenic Summit Adventure Near Manali

The Patalsu Peak day hike is one of the most scenic and rewarding short treks near Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Located in the charming Solang Valley, this high-altitude hike offers breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges, alpine meadows, and snow-clad peaks. With an elevation of around 4,220 meters, it’s a perfect trek for adventure seekers who want a taste of Himalayan trekking in just one day.

Starting Point: Solang Village

The trail begins from Solang Village, about 14 kilometers from Manali. You can easily reach Solang by taxi or shared vehicle. From here, the hike kicks off with a gentle walk through dense forests of oak and pine. The initial stretch is shaded and peaceful, with birdsong and the scent of pine all around.

Through Forests and Meadows

As you continue, the trail begins to ascend gradually, becoming steeper with every turn. After a few kilometers, the forest opens into vast alpine meadows, especially lush during spring and monsoon. These grasslands are perfect rest spots, offering early glimpses of Hanuman Tibba and the Beas Kund valley.

Final Ascent and Summit View

The final stretch is the most challenging part. It involves a steep climb over rocky terrain, requiring a good level of fitness. However, once you reach the summit of Patalsu Peak, the effort pays off spectacularly. On a clear day, you can witness panoramic views of Deo Tibba, Friendship Peak, Hanuman Tibba, and the majestic Dhauladhar range. The Solang Valley lies beneath, and the winding Beas River glistens far below.
